Update 12/3/2025.

After a season of sabbatical, I return to teaching tarot on a limited scale — as a way of meeting the moment we’re in with wisdom and insight, and offering a path through the chaos toward the future we desire now. I will be updating my calendar shortly.

Today, much of my energy is devoted to organizing and activism: building the inner and outer capacity to resist the authoritarian takeover of our country by billionaire elites, and to lay the groundwork for a new arising.

Tarot, like activism, asks us: What future do we want? The answer begins with what we choose and how we act in this very moment.

What we do and how we do it this moment matters. No effort is too small or wasted. Ask yourself what is your to do and when you get the answer, do it!

THE INVITATION

We live in a beautiful and generous world that is continuously showering us with blessings. We also live in chaotic times full of promise and dire warnings. The systems we humans have created are unsustainable, ignoring the fact that we are an integral part of Nature. The world is inviting us to drop our complacency, see ourselves as a part of Web of Life, step into our Beautiful, Powerful selves and dedicate our creative ingenuity in service to reweaving a more thriving, just, and sustainable world. As we meet and liberate ourselves in our inner worlds, our unique magic becomes available to assist the emergence of the New Earth.

Tarot Readings

Julia is currently offering in person and virtual readings by donation according to the value of the clients and their ability to pay. Her unique style allows her to carefully craft a reading specifically for her clients’ wishes and needs at the time. Tarot readings are particularly useful when you are in a transition process, providing clarity of purpose and for different choices that you may be considering. Julia can adapt to a reading to any situation you may be facing.

Tarot Coaching

In these crazy-seeming times, it is our challenge to bring our most creative, passionate, loving selves to each moment so we can collaborate with the emerging world and spiral it into Being in the most fun and liberating ways. Tarot can be our wise (cracking) partner in this process, an insightful guide for our journey.

The Living Tarot Oracle™

The Living Tarot Oracle is Julia’s unique way of engaging the tarot for profound transformation through presentations, classes, tarot-guided coaching, readings, and sacred interactive theater. She is excited to begin offering live groups in Astoria, Oregon in 2022. She is also available to travel to your community to offer groups or events there.

JULIA HESSE

Julia is a Nature-based ceremonialist and has studied a wide variety of practices with exceptional teachers for over 40 years. She has been teaching and serving clients for over 30 years. Her magic toolkit includes Tarot, Dream work, Contemporary Shamanic Practices; the Enneagram; Ceremonial Design; Ecstatic Dance; and Sound Liberation-Awakening the Authentic Voice. She is the co-creator and producer of the Living Tarot Oracle that was based in Durango, Colorado and continues in different forms in Oregon. She excels at using these different modalities to liberate the Essence of who you are.

Julia’s passion is to bring tarot to life for people in relevant, impactful and fun ways. She offers her unique style to both individuals and groups, and dedicates all of what she does in service to Beauty and the emerging New Earth.
